We are finally pleased to welcome Matthew O'Meara as the new quarterback of the Amberg Mad Bulldogs. The 25-year-old Irishman brings exceptional talent and impressive international experience, which will significantly strengthen our team in the coming season. As a player, Matthew has proven at both the club and national team levels that he is not only a gifted quarterback, but also a true leader.
His career has taken him through several European leagues, where he has consistently delivered strong performances. In 2022, Matthew played for the Ravensburg Razorbacks in Germany's top division, the German Football League (GFL), where he was part of one of the league's best passing offenses. He also excelled in the Italian Football League (IFL) in 2023 for the Milano Rhinos, reaching the playoffs. His time in Spain was also marked by success: With the Guadalajara Stings, he led the team to a flawless 6-0 season.
Matthew has also made a name for himself internationally. As quarterback for the Irish national team, he was part of Ireland's historic first international football victory against the Netherlands. His ability to read games, deliver in crucial moments, and lead his team makes him a key player for any team.
