Doubleheader on Sunday

On Sunday, May 3rd, at 3 p.m., the Amberg Mad Bulldogs will play their first home game of the new Regionalliga season. Their opponents at home are the Munich Cowboys II. After a painful defeat in their season opener against the Nuremberg Rams, the team is now even more eager to redeem themselves in front of their home crowd and secure their first points of the year.

The start to the season in mid-April unfortunately didn't go as planned. In the away defeat in Nuremberg, the team wasn't able to fully realize its potential. Minor coordination errors and a lack of rhythm made it difficult to consistently challenge the Rams. But in Amberg, they're not giving up: the mistakes were addressed bluntly and corrected.

This is precisely what's now acting as a catalyst for the team. The lads are highly motivated and determined to put this opening defeat behind them. The clear objective for Sunday is to show a different side of themselves in front of their home crowd, maintain high intensity from the first minute, and prove what this team is truly capable of.

The Bulldogs face another tough opponent on Sunday: the Munich Cowboys' second team. The Munich team is known for its extremely solid development, tactical discipline, and physical style of football. Therefore, it will be crucial that the Bulldogs' defense is sharp from the start and that the offense finds its rhythm to control the game.

Full load of football: U19 kicks things off!

All fans should arrive at the Schanzl stadium much earlier on Sunday. We're celebrating a true doubleheader game day! Our U19 tackle football team kicks off their first home game at 11:00 AM. The youth team, a joint venture of the Amberg Mad Bulldogs, the Bayreuth Dragons, and the Hof Jokers, will host the SG Augsburg/Dachau/Starnberg. The perfect opportunity to get into the football spirit early in the morning and cheer on the young players.
