Gameday against Neu-Ulm – and Children's Day

On Sunday, June 1st , things will get serious at the Stadion am Schanzl: The Amberg Mad Bulldogs will face the Neu-Ulm Spartans – a direct competitor in the Regionalliga Süd. After four matches, Amberg is in fourth place in the table with a balanced record (2 wins, 2 losses). Neu-Ulm is in third place with one more win. So, it's not just about points – it's also about making a sporting statement in the battle for the top spots.

It's the Bulldogs' second home game of the season – and after two away wins in Passau and Munich, the DAWGS now want to deliver in front of their own fans . They weren't able to win against Augsburg recently, but the team showed character despite the defeat. Head coach Dany Emmanuel sees his team developing: "We've played against the strongest teams in the league, learned from them, and grown from them. Now is the time to convert our performance into a result – with energy, discipline, and the support of our fans."

The offense, led by quarterback Matthew O'Meara, has shown in recent games what's possible: versatile plays, bold decisions, and the will to finish every play. The defense has also stabilized and shone with several decisive stops in Munich. Against the Spartans – known for their physical style of play and fast-paced offense – it will be crucial to be present from the start. The team is ready – now all that's missing are the fans in the stands.

Kickoff is at 3 p.m., doors open at 2 p.m. An exciting, evenly matched game is expected, featuring everything that makes football so special: toughness, tactics, team spirit—and the absolute will to win.

Family celebration included: Gameday meets Children's Day

But June 1st isn't just a sporting highlight—it's also International Children's Day . And because our game days are always meant for the whole family, we've come up with something very special for our youngest fans this time.
While the battle for space takes place on the field, the stadium area transforms into a small paradise for children:

🎉 This is what the kids can expect on Sunday:

  • 🏰 A large bouncy castle to let off steam

  • ✂ A creative craft station with colorful craft materials

  • 🧭 An exciting treasure hunt with small prizes and tasks

  • 🎡 The Wheel of Fortune at l'Osteria Amberg with surprises

  • 🎁 A promotional stand of Amberger Kühltechnik GmbH with interactive activities

For us, it's clear: A game day is more than just a game. It's a meeting place. An experience. And a place where people come together – from young fans to die-hard football fans.

Admission is family-friendly: Children under 7 years old are admitted free , and young people aged 7 to 17 pay a reduced price . As always, there will be snacks and drinks on site, fan merchandise at the merchandise stand, and a great atmosphere in the stands.

A Sunday for everyone

Whether you're a football fanatic or just enjoying a family outing, Game Day on June 1 offers something for everyone. On the field, it's all about points, pride, and team spirit. Off the pitch, it's all about fun, community, and the joy of children's faces.
