a season finale full of emotions

What a finish! In a highly emotional game , we, the Amberg Mad Bulldogs , defeated the Munich Rangers 40-15 – thus not only securing our league status but also securing a stable position in the upper midfield of the Regionalliga standings . A conciliatory, strong end to an intense 2025 season.

Completed all games – and with style

We were the first team in the Regionalliga to complete our entire season – and we did it with a truly impressive victory in front of our home crowd. After the final whistle, the relief was palpable on the field, on the sidelines, and in the stands. But alongside the joy of the performance, there was also a touch of sadness: some of our long-time team pillars were saying goodbye to active football with this game.

Started strong, stayed focused

Even the coin toss by Mayor Michael Cerny seemed like a good omen. Our first two quarters were practically picture-perfect: We worked our way through the Rangers' defense touchdown after touchdown, with DJ Hall, Sebastian Frank, and Anthony Green serving as strong targets for quarterback Matthew O'Meara. We were able to make some key stops on defense and only allowed two scores by halftime. The score was already 32-9 at halftime – and the "Emotion Dance" dance school created a great atmosphere in the packed Schanzl stadium at halftime.

Control until the end

After the break, we deliberately slowed down, played safely, kept the Munich offense at bay, and added another touchdown with a two-point conversion. The 40-15 win was well-deserved in the end—but the result faded into the background for a moment after the final whistle.

Thank you, legends!

Because now it got emotional: We bid farewell to two true veterans. Markus "Jacky" Jaintzyk and Patrick "Kalle" Ludwig have played a decisive role in shaping our team since the first Regionalliga season in 2017 – on the field, in the locker room, and in our hearts. Both are now retiring from football. "Honestly? I couldn't have wished for a better farewell than winning at home in front of a nearly sold-out crowd," said Kalle, visibly moved. Jacky was celebrated by family and friends in his own fan section – pure goosebumps!

Other players are also looking to leave – but we hope that football fever will be stronger than the thought of the stands.

Our head coach Dany Emmanuel summed it up in the final huddle after the game: "I'm incredibly proud of these guys – they've put in a lot of heart and dedication and put in a strong season." Fourth place in the Regionalliga is no coincidence. It's the result of hard work, a genuine team spirit – and the support of our community, fans, and partners.

Now it's time to take a deep breath, regenerate—and prepare for 2026. We still have a lot planned.
